![]() ![]() Any cultural transformation should be matched with cybersecurity resources and training at every level of the organization. Digital transformation of internal processes may improve employee efficiency, but it also can open the door to human error. ![]() This final stage represents a shift in day-to-day business operations. Organizational and Cultural Transformation As with process transformation, any new system should be viewed as having potential vulnerabilities. Another example is the shift some FSOs are making from their core banking platform to service domain semantic APIs. Business Model TransformationĪn example of business model transformation is offering an existing product digitally, such as providing enhanced mobile banking services and paperless statements. Any new systems that are created should be consistent and integrated with existing cybersecurity measures. Although offering the new service can be exciting for the business, it also has the potential to create new infrastructure vulnerabilities. For example, a credit union might begin offering car loans to their customers for the first time. This stage occurs when an organization moves into new areas of business. Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) must be involved in these changes because simplifying processes may inadvertently create security gaps. This stage typically consists of revising software or internal processes to be more efficient, such as removing redundant processes or code. The Cybersecurity Impact of Digital Transformation on Financial ServicesĪs financial service organizations (FSOs) move forward on their digital transformation journey, they need to address cybersecurity concerns in these four stages: 1. To adapt to the current landscape, financial institutions need advanced threat protection from the data center to the endpoint to the edge with comprehensive cybersecurity solutions that include secure networking for branch locations, WFA capabilities, and next-generation firewalls (NGFWs). For example, in the United States, multiple banks were hit with a $1.8 billion fine last year because employees were using personal messaging apps for company business. ![]() Each work-from-anywhere (WFA) login, mobile app, or service integration represents a potential vulnerability. Additionally, failing to maintain security standards can result in an organization losing the ability to process credit card payments altogether if it violates the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).Īs financial organizations increase their digital initiatives, the potential attack surface expands as well. As the amount of data available increases, regulatory bodies continue to churn out new laws to protect consumer data Financial institutions face increasing legislative pressure to protect their customers’ data, and failure to comply with regulations could result in severe government penalties. In addition to managing their customers’ money, financial institutions also retain customers’ personally identifiable information (PII), which makes financial institutions an attractive target to cybercriminals. The Importance of Cybersecurity in Financial Services Cybersecurity solutions must be broad, integrated, and automated across an organization’s entire IT infrastructure. A financial services organization (FSO) needs to protect its assets, minimize risk, and enable growth to meet today’s security challenges. ![]() Organizations are orchestrating applications, networks, and devices to securely provide seamless access to digital services. The digitization of products, services, and operations is happening now, and quickly. User experience remains the main differentiator for successful financial services organizations and digital transformation provides the only scalable answer. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That is applicable no matter what incubation method you use! If you live in an arid area, you may have to add water to the incubator more often to keep the humidity in the right zone. If you live in a humid area, you may need to have a dehumidifier in the room the incubator is kept in. Do not open incubator during hatch/lockdown for risk of chicks becoming shrink wrapped. On day 18 candle and replace viable eggs in incubator, then raise humidity to 60-65% for remainder of hatch period. I add a little bit of water when it gets down to 15% and try to never let it get above 30% during the first 18 days of incubation and that works perfectly for me. I keep my incubator humidity around 15-30%. Both the high humidity egg and low humidity egg would have difficulty hatching. Here's an image to show how an egg should look at day 18 with proper incubator humidity. Obviously you don't want that to happen either. If the humidity in the incubator is too low and too much moisture is lost, the chick will be too small and weak to hatch. Now here's the tricky part, you only want the eggs to lose 13% of their weight and no more. If you candle your eggs a few times during incubation (I usually do day 3, 10 and 18) you'll notice the air cell getting bigger which indicates moisture loss. Though it is the most reliable way to track moisture loss, most people don't weigh their eggs before and during incubation. If you're experiencing low hatch rates, but the chicks are fully developed, the dry incubation method allows the egg to lose more moisture from inside the shell which prevents the chicks from drowning before hatch. Poultry Keeper: The most common reason for hatch failure is caused by too much humidity. If you have a lot of eggs that develop all the way up to day 18, but don't hatch this could be your problem. If an egg does not lose enough moisture during incubation, when the chick pips internally the excess moisture causes them to drown. (no matter which incubation method you use) That is all moisture loss. To get a little more technical: during the first 18 days of incubation an egg should lose around 13% of its weight. If you live in a very humid climate or your incubator is in a room with higher humidity like a bathroom or kitchen, it affects the humidity level inside the incubator also.Ī good hygrometer is essential to knowing exactly what the humidity inside your incubator is. When incubating eggs, it's important to note that the incubator is affected by the humidity level of the room it's in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We've put in the miles (1500 to Nashville & back) and the hours (36 to marinate) to perfect our recipe. Capoccia is asking other YPO members to use their influence with Congress to convey that the PPP is working, but that it needs more time to reach these underserved groups of independent contractors and sole proprietors. Womply and other organizations have been lobbying Congress to extend the PPP to the end of the June. With the PPP set to expire at the end of March, Capoccia says there needs to be more time to reach and service this population. In a matter of days, they have received more than 300,000 applications, with thousands of new applications starting via PPP Fast Lane every hour. Womply’s goal is to reach 1 million people with their PPP Fast Lane program. ![]() It’s better for everyone if these funds can get out to these eligible but underserved non-employer businesses in their ecosystem so that they can receive the capital that they need to survive,” says Capoccia. “Our urgent need is for all YPO members to reach out to their networks to help spread awareness to sole proprietors and independent contractors to let them know the PPP is available to them. The system also automates the application process for payback forgiveness of both loans, in practice turning these low-interest loans into grants. Two weeks later, when the user is eligible for a second draw, PPP Fast Lane will submit that application and then deposit the funds again when the second draw is approved. Throughout the flow the user completes the process to receive a first draw, then starts the process to receive a second draw. The entire process is streamlined to make it as smooth as possible for the user to apply. Once approved, the funding is deposited into the user’s bank account, which is connected at the start of the application process as part of Fast Lane’s fraud prevention and identity verification. The user electronically signs the loan application, and it is submitted to the SBA. The data elements provided in the sign-up page populate the application for the PPP loan. Congress intended for PPP to reach small businesses, but less than 3% of all previous funding went to businesses with one or zero employees during 2020. The entire program is set to expire on March 31, 2021. Now through March 9, 2021, the SBA will only accept and approve first or second PPP loan applications from applicants with fewer than 20 employees. Currently, the SBA is focused exclusively on low- to middle-income (LMI) companies. All are eligible for the PPP loan, which is offered through the Small Business Administration (SBA).
